Ivanhoe Amateurs congratulates Fiona Tansley on becoming our first women’s player to clock up 50 games in Round 2 (April 9).

Fiona is a foundation member of the Ivies, joining the club in 2017.

She won the coaches award in her first season when she played in the ruck and as a forward.

Fiona developed a reputation as a fearless and courageous leader as captain in 2018 – the year the Ivies reached the Division 1 grand final.

She also took on the job as club secretary that year – a massive undertaking.

Fiona is one of several Ivies originals still playing for the club and we all appreciate her ongoing commitment despite injuries over the journey.
