50 GAMES FOR JAMES COURSE, ‘ROCK OF IVANHOE’

By Phil Skeggs

Ivanhoe Amateurs congratulates star defender James Course on his 50th game in Round 12 (July 2).

‘Coursey’, son of Ivanhoe Team of the Century legend Tony Course and brother of teammate Luke Course, joined the Hoers in 2018 and had an immediate impact as a versatile and mobile tall.

James was a recipient of the club’s best team player award in his first season. He was promoted to captain in 2019 – a position he shared last year before relinquishing the role this season.

A tough and reliable defender who is strong overhead, James anchors a miserly Ivanhoe defence that has been integral to the Hoers’ success in D2 this season.

A modest and affable bloke off the field, James is held in the highest regard as ‘The Rock of Ivanhoe’.

Rock on Coursey! You’re killing them.
